Sunday School Curriculum
Each student over six years old, takes three classes: gurmat, gurmukhi, and an elective class of their choice.
Core Classes
Gurmat
Students learn about Sikh teachings, history, and values, with an emphasis on understanding their place in daily life.
Gurmukhi
Students learn to read and write Gurmukhi while developing their Punjabi language skills. Classes are assigned according to each student’s level.
Electives
Each student 6+ must take one elective class.
PE
Students build overall fitness through movement and participation, including runs and pickleball.
Life Skills
High school students prepare for life beyond school by exploring AI, negotiation, and finance, along with fireside conversations with professionals about their careers.
Dilruba
Students learn to play the dilruba through instrument practice.
Kirtan
Students learn and practice Kirtan.
Tabla
Students learn to play the tabla, with practice focused on rhythm and the instrument’s foundations.
Mathematics
Students strengthen their mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills.
Optional After-Program Classes
These optional afternoon classes take place after the regular program and are not electives.
Turban Tying
Students learn how to tie a turban.
Self-Defense
Students learn the basics of self-defense.
